One Skein Scarf

Here is my one skein scarf from the Happy Hookers Stich n Bitch book. Overall easy although I had a little trouble with the shells on the short ends of the scarf. I used Lion Brand Wool Ease and whatever hook the pattern said. I did have some yarn leftover. I love this scarf. I made one for my mother and another for one of my son's teacher. Here is the pattern: http://www.patonsyarns.com/pattern.php?PID=2448 Pattern is free you just have to become a member on the Paton's website. My oldest is modeling it since I don't know how to set my camera up on timer. He is going to hate me when he gets older. ha ha.

Matching Hats

I decided to make my oldest a matching hat with his brother. I used this pattern http://www.angelscrochet.com/patterns/mountainpat.php I think I used an H hook so it is a little small for Alex who is almost 3. It fits my youngest a lot better. I used Caron Perfect Match. I love to put them in matching outfits. See previous post for Grady's hat. It is the SLK baby hat. Those things are great.

Pumpkin Hat

Well better late than never. I made this in the fall for my youngest son. In case you think I favor the younger one over the older that is not the case. The older one likes to take his hats off and toss them to the ground. I used Caron Perfect Match in orange and green with an H hook. I used the SLK baby hat pattern and then added my own curly q. http://susan.kraus.net/pages/pattern5.html

Another SLK baby hat

I am on a hat craze. Made this for my youngest son. Caron Perfect match and a H hook. Still fits him and he is 10 months old. Here is the link to the pattern: http://susan.kraus.net/pages/pattern5.html

Patchwork Blanket

I finally finished my patchwork blanket for my son. I made it using Bernat Softee and made it in three strips. I chained 51 then did hdc for a total of 49 stiches. I did this for about 32 rows. I made 4 blocks per strip. When I completed all the strips I joined using whipstich. At first I tried sewing the strips together but it was so annoying and didn't seem like it would hold up. The whipstich took no time at all. Then I did sc all the way around. One important lesson I learned is about dye lots. As you can see the varigated yarn is two different shades. That is because I bought two different skeins at different times. Big mistake.

Grady's hat and blanket set

Grady Victor is modeling the blanket and hat set I made for him. He seems to like it.

Happy Hookers Blanket for Grady

This is the blanket my online crochet group made for me. Everyone donates squares and they are joined together to form a blanket. Grady loves it.

Baby Set

Here is a set I made for a newborn. The blanket is worked with diagonal stitch. My Happy Hookers crochet group gave me some great links. http://mysite.verizon.net/vze8mnnp/diag.html
http://www.crochetcabana.com/stitches/diag-box-st.htm
I found these to be most helpful. I used Caron Simply Soft. The hat and booties I got from Bev's Country Cottage website. http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/preemieround.html is for the hat and http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/bevsbooties2.html for the booties. The blanket was fun to make once I got the hand of the diagonal stitch.

Caron Shawl

I made this shawl using Caron Simply Soft yarn. I got the pattern off a skein of yarn. I used a J hook instead of an h. I don't really think it hangs right. It is more like a oversized scarf than a shawl.
